“3 months before I graduated college, I was an emotional wreck. After years of classes, jobs and internships, I STILL had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Time was tickin'... I did know one thing though -- I knew what I didn't want. And that counts for something right? 😅

I didn't want to sign up for the 'Real World' where I dreaded Mondays and my morning commute; where I sat in a tiny cubicle for 8 hours a day wishing I was somewhere else; where my life was dictated by a 9-5 schedule, only living for the weekends and my two weeks of vacation a year.

I felt trapped, because as far as I knew, that world just didn't exist.”

Girl, you just don’t know how much I feel you.

My back story is pretty similar to Cassie’s. I had no idea where I’d end up or what my first real job would be 5 years ago, when my college graduation was approaching. I was a student government employee at the time, and what I did know was that politics, gray offices, and uninspiring work was not what I’d dreamed of doing when I grew up. I wanted to travel the world. I wanted to dictate my own schedule, and I wanted to own businesses. But at that point, I hadn’t known being a traveling entrepreneur was an actual career path.

They surely didn’t teach us about it in business school…

Which is why thought leaders like Cassie and Shay are refreshing and necessary in a society where so many crave to break free from normalcy.

“If you're reading this, I want you to know there IS a different path to the traditional 9-5 cubie. The truth is though: it may not be for everyone but I feel like it's my duty to at least open the doors for you, because my nervous-wreck-college-graduating self would've been eternally grateful.

“We've immersed ourselves in this new world of untraditional ‘offices’, coworking spaces around the world and exploring the freedoms of remote work -- and OH, this world doesn't just exist, it's THRIVING.”

Cassie and Shay are here for the coffee-lovin’, wanderlust-seekin’ entrepreneurial spirits who are ready to ditch their cubes, start successful online businesses, and have the freedom to design their own lifestyles. The fabulous founders of The Bucketlist Bombshells, these ladies are paving the future of remote work for millennial women who aim to run 6-figure online businesses while traveling the world.

Through their Bucketlist Bombshells Academy, their library of online courses teach sought-after skills in design, tech and online business. Cassie and Shay have grown a community of over 40,000 aspiring and seasoned location independent women around the world, and their work has landed them features on Forbes and CNBC.

I’m inspired by this dynamic duo’s story – they’ve crafted their ideal lifestyles and checked off some major items on their bucketlists while showing fellow dreamers exactly how they can do it too (and they keep it real in the process). Check out a few of their tips on turning your passion into profit below:

KW: If you had 1 minute to tell your story -- what led you to this point and where you're headed from here -- how would you tell it?

So as serious go-getters, dreamers and doers, we designed a plan. Our vision was simple: Create online businesses that give us the freedom to work online and travel the world (yes at the same time!) without a backpacker’s budget – holla!

C & S: In November 2013, after meeting at a coffee shop in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, we bonded over having ditched our 9-5’s and bought one-way tickets to Mexico with just our laptops in hand and entrepreneurial spirits.

A life-long friendship formed and one late night at our kitchen table, we created the Bucket List that would change our lives forever.

So as serious go-getters, dreamers and doers, we designed a plan. Our vision was simple: Create online businesses that give us the freedom to work online and travel the world (yes at the same time!) without a backpacker’s budget – holla!

Two months after bustin’ our butts online (everything from virtual assistant work, social media management, graphic design etc.), we went from making no income to bringing in a full-time income online.

With our newfound freedom, we set off to begin checking off our Bucket List through Mexico, Guatemala, Canada, the United States, Italy, Jordan, Thailand and Bali.

In between, we finally hit that sweet spot between the type of work we were passionate about, the types of clients we loved to work with and our online businesses started KILLIN’ IT (whoop!).

After meeting tons of women who would say to us, “OMG, You’re living the dream! I wish I could work online and travel the world!”, we were inspired to create the Bucketlist Bombshells community and our academy of online courses to teach and empower other millennial women to join the “Remote Revolution” too.

We’ve now taught thousands of millennial women to build successful online businesses, giving them the freedom to live creatively and pursue their globetrotting girl boss dreams! Together, we’ll continue to pave the path for the future of remote work while also using education to break down social and economic barriers in an even bigger way in 2018!

How have you been able to tap into your passion for helping people create their ideal lives?

We believe there is incredible power in education and in bringing together a community of women to support each other as they ditch their 9-5 jobs in pursuit of a building a successful online business that gives them the freedom to travel. Therefore, we’ve tapped into our passions by making the core of our business our academy of online courses as well as fostering our tribe of location-independent millennial women!

What was the biggest financial shift you had to make to prepare for life as full-time nomadic entrepreneurs?

It’s up to us to give ourselves a “raise” (i.e. raise our rates), work smarter and hustle to gain more clients.

One of the biggest financial shifts we made was realizing that as an entrepreneur, we’re in control of our financial success. It’s up to us to give ourselves a “raise” (i.e. raise our rates), work smarter and hustle to gain more clients. Being in control of our financial destiny is incredibly liberating.

Each month, we set financial goals. This has rewarded us with the ability to significantly increase our income from our first few months as entrepreneurs. It also puts us in control of our finances and gives us the ability to be intentional about the financial growth of our business.

What's your most valuable tip you offer budding, purpose-based entrepreneurs who are looking for their ideal clients?

Knowing your ideal client inside and out will be the foundation of the success of your business.

Know every detail of who your ideal client is -- know their fears, their strengths, what keeps them up at night, what their biggest dreams are, their greatest dreams, the blogs they read and mentors they follow etc. Knowing your ideal client inside and out will be the foundation of the success of your business. This will ensure that you’re creating services and products that resonate with them, that you create copy that directly speaks to them and that you market to them where they are “hanging out”.
